Quilts & More

We are all artists, each as unique as the masterpiece they create.  Some artists create beauty in their garden, some paint, others sculpt.  I love to dabble in a lot of different mediums to reflect the beauty around me.  Quilting is my favorite, but occasionally you will find other art forms on this page too.   Your patience will be rewarded here, there are a lot of things to add to this page, and it will take a LOT of time!

I have only recently started to applique quilts.  This project was completed after attending the Applique Academy in Williamsburg, Virginia in 2011.  I love the method I used from Pearl Pereria, the creator of this method of applique and the designer of this project.  I have entitled the piece "Baltimore Trellis."

This is the first completed quilt in a 4 season series.  Summer Cottage has a lot of my 3 favorite colors; red, white and blue! It's too late to begin Spring Cottage for display in the coming months, so I will start working on Autumn House for display this fall.  The photo is at a strange angle because this quilt is now hanging in my hallway.  The original pattern can be purchased from Shabby Fabrics.

I love to take someones original idea and make it my own.  This quilt is based on a "Stack and Whack" technique by Bethany Reynolds. Lemoyne Stars are my absolutely favorite quilt block and since I discovered Bethany's method to make it I have a LOT more Lemoyne Star quilts in my life!

Chris and Elese Severe love the quilt love the quilt I made for them! It was made with a layer cake of 10 inch squares and then yardage at the borders.

Jacques quilt is made with batik fabric and is meant to look like a stained glass window.

Beckie and Will waited a long time to get their quilt.  I didn’t like the way the initial quilting was done so I took it all apart and had it requilted.

Liz’s quilt is a sampler made with very bright fabrics and flip flop shoe print for a final border.

Patrick’s quilt was a simple nine patch but spoke clearly that he is a Baltimore Ravens fan!

I love the way Stephanie’s quilt makes two patterns, both the churn dash and the star!
